Betting the Trifecta and Triple
When you bet on the Trifecta or Triple, you are betting on three specific horses to cross the finish line in the first, second and third positions, and in the exact order you specified when you laid your bet. If there are fewer than seven horses in a field (contesting the race), the Trifecta or Triple wager will not be offered by the racetrack, and no bets will be accepted.

In the event that a scheduled horse is scratched (eliminated) from a six or five horse field (depends on the track) before post-time (the start of the race), all Trifecta or Triple wagers made will be deemed to be no action (invalid).

If your selections win, you will receive the payoff amount opposite the word, Trifecta or Triple, as shown on the racetrack board.

Betting the Trifecta Box
When you bet on the Trifecta Box, you are betting on three or more specific horses to cross the finish line in the first, second and third positions, in any order. If there are fewer than seven horses in a field (contesting the race), the Trifecta Box wager will not be offered by the racetrack, and no bets will be accepted.

In the event that a scheduled horse is scratched (eliminated) from a six or five horse field (depends on the track) before post-time (the start of the race), all Trifecta Box wagers made will be deemed to be no action (invalid).

You will have to make several individual Trifecta bets, in various combinations, so that your picks can, in fact, finish in any order.

If you want to end up with all of your bets on a single ticket, you will have to make multiple individual Trifecta bets. You will be able to calculate the total cost of your wager by multiplying the number of wagers made times the amount of each individual wager.

You also may limit the combinations by keying (linking) a single horse to a particular finish position i.e., to Win, Place or Show. This means that the horse you have keyed to a specific position must finish in that position. The other selected horses, which are not keyed in any way, would be boxed into the remaining non-keyed positions.

For example, let us say you select horses 3, 6, 7 and 9, and decide to key horse number 7 to Place and number 9 to Win in the wager setup screen. Your resulting wager would be a Trifecta Box, with two keys. You will win this Trifecta Box wager only if the number 9 horse crosses the finish line in first position, a Win, the number 7 horse in Place position and either of the number 3 or 6 horses crosses in the Show position.

You may also make a type of Wheel wager by selecting all horses in a particular race, then keying one or more of them to finish in a specific position (s). You will win this single wheel wager only if the horse (s) you key finish in either of the specified positions, i.e., win, place or show.
